Best score from a Movie or TV show..your Favs?

I downloaded a bunch of old movie scores last night and it motivated me to put together a list of some of my favs.

1. The Imperial March-from The Empire Strikes Back. Easily the greatest score of any movie at any time. Simply Epic.

2. Premontory (also listed as "The Kiss")-from The Last of the Mohicans. This is one of the greatest scores IMO and it also helps that the scene in which it plays is one of the best in a film...where Hawkeye, Chingachgook (sp?), and Uncas are chasing the Huron trying to save Cora at the end of the movie.

3. The intro music to V: The Final Battle (TV Miniseries 1985). The sequel to the original V miniseries had some kickazz intro music on the opening credits. Also..V just rules all.

4. The main theme to Pee Wee's Big Adventure. They are using it on the commercials for "Mr. Margoriums Wondrous Emporium" now. This is a classic by Danny Elfman. Great music.

5. The Opening Music to David Fincher's 1984 Sci Fi classic DUNE. Love the movie. Love the music as well. The score was actually done by the 80s band Toto.

#1 - The Rocky theme...the one they play while he's training and running up the steps to the museum in Philly. Still gives me chills when I hear it.

#2 - The Godfather theme song. It just does a fantastic job of melding with what you're seeing on screen.

Everything else falls in line after these two, in my opinion.

John Williams flat out owns. The Indy music, Star Wars, lots of other great movie music.

Yeah, it's starting to be Christmas season so I figured I'd decorate lol

Danny Elfman always scores a movie greatly...I don't think I'm ever disappointed with his work.

My two favorites...not the best, but my favorites...

Returns a King - Tyler Bates from 300. Absolutely love this song.

Anakin's Dark Deeds - John Williams from Episode III.

Danny Elfman always scores a movie greatly...I don't think I'm ever disappointed with his work.

Good call. Add the theme from Batman to my list.

And "Duel of Fates" from SW I: Phantom Menace

Jaws - probably one of the most recognizable theme songs in the history of cinema.

I love the theme from The Rock - it fits in perfectly with the action.

Movies?

Oh man. Kill Bill Vol 1. & 2, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Magnolia, Purple Rain... some of my favorites off the top of my head.

And, say what you will about the show but Dawson's Creek til this day (imo of course) had the best collection of music in the series for any TV show.
