Here's a good place to start:

After that it'll be good to look through the xda-developer.com forums (may be good to go to the Kaiser section), if you're looking to customize it even more.

Does this phone allow you put a customizable background on it? I was thinking of adding a Green Bay Packers background but didn't know if it was possible.

And also, what would I have to add on here to watch Youtube videos on it?

yep... u can add any background to your theme

and as far as youtube goes, if your connection is fast enough (like 3g), use internet explorer (i prefer opera, must faster) and go to youtube.com, it should auto take you to the mobile youtube site where once you click a link, it'll either bring up windows media player or the HTC player to stream the video (or whatever other player u have installed that u prefer to use)

I have the 8525 (unlocked for t-mobiles crappy service) and I love the phone itself... it's so hacker friendly it's not even funny.. flashed through about 3-4 different ROMS before I found a windows 6.1 that i totally love

xda-developers.com is your friend... anything u want u can pretty much find in their forums... they have specific forums designated for the different HTC pda's, smartphones, etc

Here's my Home and Lock screen for those who care:

So yea...I've realized that when it comes to sicing these kinds of phones, I am the absolute worst lol.

Tried playing a video on youtube and some message came up saying "Media file type not supported"

Re: Just got the AT&T Tilt

So is this phone officially not using a crappy stylus? My 8125 got on my nerves cause the freaking stylus got lost every other week. I love the picture that ThaGenecyst has because that sucker reminds me much of the iphone interface. I'd love to have an iphone interface look with customizable options out the wazoo. Next week is my upgrade option. Trying to figure out if I should scoop this up or wait a little for an upgraded version (Tilt 2) coming out soon.

Was so interested in trying out the iphone but the lack of being able to use my own ringtones out the box is kind of killing my funk. How are you guys feeling about the phone now? Is there a phone out there that is comparable or better than this one right now on the AT&T network??

I think the HTC Player is far superior to the windows media player that comes built into windows mobile phones... it came to a point where my phone wouldn't play any mp3's or 3gp's at all so I had to settle for the TCPMP player until I upgraded to Windows Mobile 6.1

I saw your first post say "sicing" and immediately looked at your location to see if you were from MD lol and there it was

To be honest, I don't think there's a better phone offered than the Tilt as far as pocket pc's go... if you're going to go with a smart phone's I think the Black Jack II is nice... has a lot of RAM and runs programs quickly

Since owning the 8525 since back in May, my stylus remains intact and I haven't misplaced it at all.. So I don't think that would change with the Tilt... the Tilt II is already out in Europe and Asia but I don't know when they'll be available in America (we're always late when it comes to the latest cell phone gadgets).. they even dumb the phones down for us Americans (my 8525 doesn't have a front camera like the European versions like the MDA Vario II, etc so video calling is pointless)

If you want an iphone interface on your PPC, there's a program called ifonz.. a combination of FTouchflo, ifonz, and S2U2 will have your phone resembling the iPHONE (but won't function as one with your fingers)... You can even get the HTC Cube (drag your finger/stylus left right up or down to get to the different menus around the cube) running if you'd prefer that over the Windows Mobile today screen... lots of options guys, lots of options

Trying to get like either a Devin Harris in a Nets uni background or a Greg Jennings background but I don't know if either can be done(PLEASE tell me it can)

And yea man, sicing is like a local word around where I stay lol

it can be done... just download the pic to your PC and adjust it's size to 320x240 (i think that's what the screen res is) and save it as a jpeg, then transfer it to your phone... then hit the start button, then go to settings.. then go to Today.. and you'll see a box that says "Use this picture as the background" click it to put a check next to it, then hit browse... and all jpegs stored on your phone will show up.. find it, and voila

                        Edit:

I'm not sure how stable or fast you feel your Tilt is, but if you're not satisfied and feel like being a rom updating freak (like myself), head on over to

Site has great developers that are constantly creating new roms with features for our phones.. The current ROM (windows mobile 6.1 PDACorner v.18) is the most stable one I've ever used and hasn't given me any problems

Don't you void the warranty of the phone if you do that? And, does upgrading your ROM cause you to lose stuff saved to your phone?

More than likely... I'm in a situation where a warranty wasn't possible (using an ATT phone on t-mobile's service...) but those devs have created a bootloader that keeps your phone brick proof for the 99% of the time i'm sure like they have with my phone... I've flashed through 15 roms with no problems in the past 2 weeks trying to find a rom that fits... Just gotta read the threads and the stickies VERY carefully

there's a program called PIMbackup where you can backup all your txt messages, contacts, emails, etc, u can use that file to restore once ur done updating the ROM... all other stuff like programs you'd have to redownload or reinstall again.. i keep a folder on my sd card that's strictly for all the programs I use so whenever I update, I can reinstall them after I'm done
