You and me both, one of the greatest films of the past decade IMO. Just simply incredible.

I turned it off about an hour and a half or so in because it was that bad, to me. And from what I've heard/read about the ending, I'm glad I did.
You missed one hell of an incredible ending then..

Anyone know if this is out on Blu-Ray yet?

EDIT - it appears it is..i'm going to have to pick this up monday

I liked it in theatres....my entire group did. Then I rented it for my friend that hadn't seen it yet and we could barely sit through the dang thing. Two and half hours of barely anything happening. Great acting but really slow. Ending was interesting but missed being truly amazing IMO.

It is a bit on the slow side.

Still top notch in terms of acting, cinematography, score and all that jazz. A quality film to be sure, but I'm not sure I'll be buying it or watching it dozens of times over the years to come or anything like that.

Definitely a few A+ scenes, but more like a B overall for me.

I agree. I didn't like the movie as much as I thought I would. The ending redeemed it some, but I still regret shelling out the dough to get on Blu Ray as I can't see myself watching it again. Great acting, just not a compelling story.

                Re: There Will Be Blood

i think part of the "speed" of the movie is a reflection of that particular day and age of our culture - life did move at a slower pace.

personally, i love the movie...but as a 36 year old married man with 4 kids under the age of 10, anything that slows life down is an enjoyment (plus i read a lot of fiction books from that timeframe).

                  Re: There Will Be Blood

I just watched this today on Blu Ray and wow. What a awesome movie. Daniel Day Lewis was outstanding and even though it moved a little slow, the movie was outstanding.

Def worthy of all the praise.

I thought it was a pretty good flick but it's not something I think I'd watch again.

i'd rate this movie as one of the top 5 best movies i've ever watched...i loved the storyline and Daniel Day-Lewis gave one of the most amazing performances one will ever witness. i realize this movie is not for everyone, but i find that it never gets old.
