Re: Rap beats created by my boys
They sound like fruity loop rookies, but the beats are really not that bad. It just takes time.....Crime Mob makes ALL thier beats off fruity loops so its just a matter of time until they get it down.....tell them to keep at it.

Re: Rap beats created by my boys
First thing they need to do is get a new sound bank.
Tell them to delete all of the sounds that come with Fruity Loops. Trust me, it's the best thing they could ever do for themselves.
The beats you posted aren't really good but it's obvious to me that they at least understand how to make music. They've got the rhythmic changes in there and the right elements. I think the sounds are the problem. They're using basic ones that are crap."It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

Re: Rap beats created by my boys
I'm sure there are ways to get free sounds but I'd be weary of that.
On Fruity Loops, you may be forced to buy sound cds. Problem with those is they are usually sampled from music that's already out. So unless you know how to mix sounds effectively you're just rehashing the same sounds in a different melody.
You could start sampling from old records (And i'm not talking about like Kanye sample. I'm saying sampling sounds or quick hits) and then transfer those into Fruity Loops.
But there is no one out there that uses Fruity Loops exclusively that doesn't also use something else. Fruity Loops works well to lay down the tracks and see how it's layed down (rather than being more audio with an MPC) but when it comes to the music and sounds you're gonna need other equipment or tools to make it better."It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. Don't ever let anyone tell you otherwise.
If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)Comment

If you want your own drum kit you need to be more creative and resourceful."It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied.
