I need help with my Vista...

So i downloaded the new security updates yesterday and ever since my "sharing network" has been pissing me off. I can't access my music, movies, or my network anymore. Im using Norton protection center, and Windows keep telling me there is something wrong. When i open WMP it says, "Media sharing is currently disabled, either because the sharing service is not running or your firewall settings have changed. To restart sharing, you must confirm your sharing settings."

I went into Windows security center and my firewall is on, but when i go to Malware protection it doesnt detect anything. This is really starting to get to me, before i updated i had no problems. Now this is just getting insane, i dont know what to do...anyone know?

I know this is a useless reply, but it's also a dead serious reply:

    Get it...

You'd need to fresh install it. Personally, I NEVER upgrade an OS. You should always do a full format and install it from scratch.

It's not hard to do - you just need to make sure you back up files you need on a DVD, and make sure you at least have your NIC drivers so that you can download the rest of your drivers once you're up and running.

I guess it's not much of an option if you've got a pre-built computer that comes with software you NEED and USE. But I personally own all the software I need, and I built my computer - so it's not a problem for me.

Another thing you could do if you really want to, is get a second hard drive and install XP on that. I've got 3 HDs myself - XP Pro Everyday Use, XP Pro w/ Video Editing Software, and Ubuntu.
