Yeah...it was cool. I guess it's sorta embarrassing in a way. At first, I didn't tell any of my friends how I met her. I guess as time's gone on, it doesn't really matter anymore.

We dated for about a year and a half before we got married, so it's not like I jumped into something with some psychobitch I didn't know anything about. All in all, I'd say it's worked out pretty well.

the site I used was eharmony... I am actually a shy person when I approach a woman, so this was a big help.. been going with her for about 2 years (save for a month when we broke up)..

It's interesting that some look down on online dating, but people go to bars in hopes of meeting someone. It only seems logical to be able to go to a place where you can get a very well rounded description of someone you might be interested in.

I've never been to one of these sites (simply because I was married in 1995), but I think if I were single, I'd do it.

I have a buddy who has just changed his whole life around. Meaning he quit drinking, smoking, and has now found Jesus. Per him he is now just looking for a wife and has now joined up in E-harmony. He seems to like it, I joke with him and call him the internet pimp, because he always tells me about these girls that he is talking to from all over the place.

He has run into some crazies though. One I guess was very religious and after they talked on the phone 1 time she was telling him that God was telling her they were to be married... My boy had to block her calls and do whatever he had to do so she couldn't contact him over the site.

I agree about the bar... like I said I've never done it THAT way... only have fooled around with those girls... nothing beyond that.

I agree with Eharmony as being a good website for dating. i used it once two years ago and the first girl i dated off the site is currently my girlfriend and we are getting married in feb. I was also the first guy she contacted. Its one of the few sites where it actually takes you an hour to fill out your profile but its well worth it cause the matches you receive are very specific to what you want. Definetly well worth the money.

I met my wife on Match.com about 4 years ago. It was honestly the first time I ever contacted someone off of one of those sites with the intention of actually meeting them in person.

I didn't have a profile or anything like that...I was just "window shopping" when I came across her profile. After reading it, she sounded so amazing to me that it prompted me to create my own profile and pay the $19.95 so that I could contact her. Best $20 I ever spent! :wink:

Do you guys use dating sites to meet girls?

I'm not trying to bust anyone's chops or nothin, but I personally would never do it. I just feel like the old-fashioned way of meeting girls should never change. No substitutes for it imo.

I would feel weird doing it personally... however, that's how my brother met his wife and she's cool as hell, and they are a GREAT couple.

I think everyone just needs to go with what makes them most comfortable... things always seem to have a way of working themselves out

Haha, that's funny... my brother and his wife didn't tell us until after the wedding because they were embarassed! We all laughed about it.
