Re: Favorite Band or Artist from your state?
Amos Lee, The Roots, Jim Croce (deceased), or Lee Morgan (deceased).
Also, John Coltrane wasn't born here, but he did move here at an early age and this is where he rose to fame.Helen: Everyone's special, Dash.

Re: Favorite Band or Artist from your state?
John Mellencamp without a doubt, I grew up in the 80's and 20 miles from Seymour, Indiana where he was born.
I have been to 17 Mellencamp concerts over the years, most of them where free.
I use to listen to his music nonstop and still get in the Mellencamp mood at times and listen to his CD's.
I have not liked most of his recent music but I really loved his older stuff.ND Season Ticket Holder since '72.Comment

Re: Favorite Band or Artist from your state?
From the rock/hip-hop vein, there's a good list for Illinois/Chicago in the past 15 years or so.
Kanye West
Wilco
Liz Phair
Smashing Pumpkins
Shellac
Uncle Tupelo
Son Volt
Fall Out Boy
Urge Overkill
Rhymefest
Lupe Fiasco
The Redwalls
Smoking Popes
Cheap Trick (still at it)
Gotta go with Kanye with Wilco as a close second.Last edited by AJColossal; 12-20-2007, 04:06 PM.Comment

I call both Portland and L.A. home. Born in LB, raised here for a bit, before moving to Portland, then eventually moving back down to CA.
