I use CDex but there are probably better ones. Quick and easy for me.

Use EAC(exact audio copy) with the LAME encoder to get the best sounding mp3's with a reasonable file size. It actually sounds just like the cd but the size is comparable to ripping it at 192 kpbs.

If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)

                Re: CD to MP3 converter

Sorry, yeah a website. My daughter got a Sansa Shaker today but it only uses MP3's ( I thought you could transfer songs from a cd into it, but I guess I was wrong) I just wanted a free easy site. I found one, but it only allowed 12 free songs, then you had to buy the program

                Thanks

For free, legal downloads I go to yourqtip.com. I have been able to download a small library from this site to help fill the ipod.

Just use Itunes. Rip them onto your computer and then delete it. It's super easy.

Windows media player is what I use. I know it will convert CD files to an MP3 cd for my jeep. I assume you could do the same thing to convert files for an MP3 player.

try freerip.com. Not a bad little program I have been using to transfer songs to my Creative mp3 player.

                          Didn't even think about iTunes.

Thanks for all the help. Got to get those High School Muscial and Hannah Montana cds into mp3s

Dookie, I got my son the Sansa Shaker for Christmas and I use WMP to rip and transfer songs to it for him. Works just fine.
