Huh, I didnt know that, but I guess it makes sense. Thanks for the heads up.

It does cost alot, but I would recommend buying the extended warranty anyways. For our 50" DLP it was $200 at Circuit City. It will cover bulb replacement.

It's up to you, but I love my 61. I have had zero issues with the set (no clouding or HDMI drops), and the PQ is phenominal. I'm also using it as a PC monitor, and it looks fantastic set to a 1080p resolution. So I can recommend this set, as well as the 65 (since it's virtually the same, but with the reflective screen).

Do you know what the contrast ratios are on the 61 and 65? is there that much of a difference? I know the 69 and 71 jumped to 20K and 25K...

It's 10,000:1. But why get a set that you know will have the triple ball effect when you can get a set that is issue-free? The picture will look marginally better on the 69 or 71, but way worse during fast motion scenes. If you are looking for a higher contrast ratio, I believe the Olevia 477i, which the critics love, has a 15,000:1. The only issue with that set is lighter black levels than the Samsung, Sony and Pioneers.

Yeah, game mode is usually darker than other modes, such as Standard or Dynamic. If you like Game mode, I'd up the contrast and maybe the back-light as well.
