    [Apple] Does this make sense?

I have never seen a 2.16 ghz macbook... ever.

Also, anyone hear how Apple is planning on releasing a new line of computers on January 14, 2008? Is this true? If so, what is it?

Believe the January date is the release of Microsoft Office 2008. They just released new Imac's so that is a rumor I believe.

Never heard of a 2.16 ghz. They have a 2.6 ghz I believe though.

Yes, a new ultra portable Mac will be announced in January at MacWorld.

Its said to be half as thick as a current MacBook, and will feature a solid state harddrive, for near instantaneous boot time.

If you are close to buying, I would hold out to see what Apple has up their sleeve.

Any leaked photos or idea of prices?

This will be for the Macbook and not Macbook Pro, right?

Frig, I leave for Aussie on the 20th and would like to get my computer problem resolved.

My bro just bought a Macbook Pro and its sick, but I wanted an iMac...except that it does not meet airline specifications.

So now I'm looking at the decent priced Macbook, BUT I dont think it'll run games--not good ones, anyways. Argh..

No leaked photos, and nothing 'officially' confirmed, but those are specs are expected. I dont expect the new computer to replace the MB or MBP, but be a new line in itself. I'm guessing since it will be a solid state harddrive, it will not have a huge harddrive.

But, we will have to wait until Macworld for official news. Personally, if the computer is half as thick as a current Macbook, I will probably buy one on day one.

Yep, as Dagger said, the new super portable laptop should be announced at Macworld. And if the past is any indication, they'll be available the same day or shortly there after.

Hopefully the graphics card will be better than the garbage they put in the Macbook now.

Yeah, the 2.16Ghz was what I was looking at last year sometime. It is an actual config. Pretty quick machine from my experience with it. So the 2.16 is not a typo.

Rumor on the street is the new mac could see 14 hours worth of battery life....

                      which would be ridiculous.

Now that would be nice. The 15" Powerbook that I have right now barely gets 3 hours with screen brightness all the way down and reduced processor speed.
