Re: Audiobooks?
I doubt you'll find any free ones but I've used www.simplyaudiobooks.com to rent CDs. I think they do downloads too. -
Re: Audiobooks?
There are plenty of free audiobooks, as long as you don't mind older stuff. Thousands of years of literature are in the public domain, and there are groups trying to get as much as possible recorded and disseminated. Just realize that some of the readers really suck, but as they donated their services it is hard to complain
The best is probably Librivox, and I also like some of the things at Telltale Weekly and Audiobooks For Free. Also check out Archive.org - they have tons of free audio, from concerts to lectures to speeches and more.
You should also check with your local library. Here they have a service that allows you to download protected WMA files that self-lock after a few weeks. It is like checking them out and returning them, only you don't have to go to the library to do it. The one caveat is that protected WMA files won't authorize on the Apple OS, but if you have a Windows computer and Windows formatted iPod you should be okay for most files. There is a new protection type on some of the books that are only compatible with certain portable players that have paid Microsoft for a special license.Comment
