    Blade Runner: Director's Cut

Who else has picked this up?

I got it on HD-DVD and love it. This movie was so far ahead of its time its scary and it STILL holds up 20 years later as far as FX go to your modern day action movies.

They also have multiple versions of the movie available on the same disc.

    Highly recommended.

Great movie. I totally agree that it still holds up today.

Picture and sound are great on the HD DVD version (same for the BD version I'm sure). With 5 disks and 5 versions of the movie, as well as tons of extra stuff, this set was a great value. I think you can get it for around $27 on Amazon.

I picked it up without ever having seen the movie and I'm glad I did.

I haven't seen it since I was a kid and in all honesty, I do not remember it at all. I was holding out getting in on DVD all these years because I kept hearing that a true directors cut was going to be released.

I'm tempting to buy the Ultimate Edition on Bluray, but I want to see the movie first, since I don't remember it, I want to make sure that I'll like it. I mean, I'm sure I will, it is right up my alley and I love Ridley Scott.

I want to get it but I don't have blu ray or hd dvd yet so I'm going to hold off. No way I'm buying regular dvd and then have to rebuy it right away.

Blade Runner was the very first dvd I got just about 10 years ago now, back when there were roughly 10 total dvds available for sale

Still haven't seen this movie. Waiting on it from Blockbuster online. I've heard the transfer to HD DVD and Bluray is amazing.

I had never seen the film before I got the HD DVD. I watched the final cut first, and then watched the U.S. theatrical version the next night. The theatrical version has some narrative that helps flesh out the story and gives some good background information, but I personally liked the final cut better. The narrative seemed a little out of place to me for a sci-fi picture. I would definitely watch both versions though.

A couple weeks back I was at my eye doctor and there was a HD Magazine that had a pretty large spread detailing the efforts and dedication that went into the Blade Runner transfer. Pretty technical, but if i had a High def player i'd pick up the movie just as a great example to show people. Doesnt hurt that the movie is pretty good.
