Have they come out with "HDMI port extensions"?

With so many new electronics having HDMI inputs and outputs, and with most folks having HDTVs with only 1 or 2 HDMI ports on them....has anyone come out with a sort of "HDMI expander" like an attachment plugs into your lone HDMI port on your TV and gives you say...3-4 HDMI ports?

    Did I explain that right?

I ask because I already have my DishNetwork HD Receiver hooked up to my 60" Toshiba's HDMI input...as well as an XBox 360 with HDDVD through component, and I plan on picking up a PS3 soon for the Blu-Ray.

I'd like to run all of those through HDMI and if they had an add on, etc. I'd like to know.

I think you can buy HDMI switching boxes (similar to a KVM for a monitor so you can use it with 2 PC's)...I don't think a simple 1 to many cable will work though. Same with optical audio, I've seen switching devices out there where you plug in a bunch, hit a button to select one of the inputs, and it'll pass through.

You can buy a reciever that handles multiple HDMI inputs, but that can get kinda pricey (even mid range recievers don't have tons of HDMI inputs yet).

TV's need to have at least 4 HDMI's inputs now. But I think we are exceptions to the rule with videogame systems, HD DVD players etc.

Holy crap! With so many choices, which should I choose?

I mean..in all honesty..is there any REAL difference between the $19 one and the $90 one?

You know what I mean...like how the guys at Best Buy try and get you to buy the $200 cable because it's "Sooooo much better" than the one you can get for 20 bucks..when it isnt.

I have a Harmony programmable remote, so I would personally get one with a remote. That way my Harmony would either know it from the software (if other people have it) or I could teach my remote myself. I love hitting "Play 360" and having it turn on my tv, reciever, 360, and put everything to the right settings.

The $19 one works fine but it won’t pass 1080p. Price seems to scale up depending on how many inputs/outputs you need.

This is the one I have...

                http://shop1.outpost.com/product/520...H:MAIN_RSLT_PG

It works well and the nice thing is when I bought it from Frys it included 4 HDMI cables so that helped save some money on the cost. The unit auto detects which component is on and automatically switches to that component, it also comes with 2 remotes so you can turn the unit off and on without having to go to it and press a button. So far its worked perfectly for me.

I'm fine with a TV only having one HDMI, my set now has 3, 2 are empty. But receivers need more. My receiver has 3, all are being used.

Wow, I had no idea stuff like this existed! Granted I don't have a need for it yet, but it's nice to know this option is out there. Anyone know if there is any picture downgrade from the cheaper ones?

Ive been told that the Joytech one suffers picture and sounds problems from time to time, the one I posted a link to hasnt given me any problems to this point.

Sweet. I think I may pick one of these up. The tv I'm about to pick up has 3.
