Definitely another layer beyond the surface. I went to bed thinking about the movie.

I missed this movie at the theater, but after listening to these reviews I'm going to pick it up for next weekend.

Just watched this movie for the first time last night. One of the better westerns of its time, held up by two great performances from Crowe and Bale. The latter of whom, without question, is one of the finest actors of our generation.

            This one was awesome.
I Hate Russell Crowe and I loved him in this movie.

This was my favorite movie of 07 by far. And now that I just picked up a PS3 yesterday, i'm definitely looking forward to picking it up on Blu Ray.

Just got around to watching this last night and I really enjoyed it, and it looked pretty good on BR as well. One of the best Westerns Ive seen in awhile, probably since Open Range and before that Unforgiven, but this was a great movie.

I dont think any western can be better then unforgiven.

Uh...actually...LOTS of westerns can be better than Unforgiven.

Don't get me wrong...I liked Unforgiven but I did think it got a bit too much praise. Solid western but not the best by any means.

Some I would rate above it.

                              Tombstone

I also watched the Quick and the Dead for the first time a few days ago. Pretty good western by Sam Raimi and a great cast....Gene Hackman, Leonardo DiCaprio, Lance Henriksen, Tobin Bell, Russell Crowe, Sharon Stone (Looking FINE!), and Gary Sinise.

Unforgiven is a must watch anytime it is on. Those other movies are great the first time thru, but they just dont have the staying power on subsequent viewings.
