    Saving emails?

I wonder if any of you guys have any idea how to save your inbox and outbox messages. I have hundreds of emails on my cpu and I want to be able to cut down on the paper usage. Is there a way to burn them on a disk or something so I'll always have them?

Why can't you just leave them in the system?

My yahoo email has thousands of saved messages.

What email program are you using? If it's Outlook, then create a new data file (meaning a .pst) first make note of where it's saved to, copy all your old email to it, burn it to disk, then take off that data file.

How do you check your e-mail? Are you talking about gmail, yahoo, or are you using Outlook Express or some other e-mail client? E-mail clients usually have ways to back up or save e-mails somewhere else (I think in Outlook you can just select them and paste them in a folder, they'll be in an e-mail format that text readers open). Not sure, I just move my inbox into a "OldMail" folder in my Outlook Express I'm onto OldMail5 right now and have all e-mails from the end of 2002 on lol

I'm using Outlook Express. Ideally I want to cut down on printing each email to save on paper. On the downside, if my cpu crashes I lose all record of all the emails. I just want to be able to back up all the emails on my cpu somehow.

I'm not sure if Outlook Express allows it, but with the full Outlook, you can just drag and drop emails into a file location (it brings any attachments with it) and then just burn that folder to a disk. I stopped using PSTs a long time ago. All they do is slow down your email. Instead of an archive, I just drag and drop whatever email I want to keep to a folder.

What fishpa posted will definitely work too.
