I'm confused (Grindhouse movies)
So Grindhouse is two separate movies with two completely different story lines? Do I have to watch one before the other?Tags: None -
Re: I'm confused (Grindhouse movies)
It's meant to replicate the experience of sitting at the drive-in and watching a pair of over the top horror movies that are so painstakingly bad they are entertaining.Listen to some of my covers:

Yeah, you can watch them in whatever order you want.
In chronological order by storyline, Death Proof then Planet Terror thoughComment

Re: I'm confused (Grindhouse movies)
they are kinda meant to be spoofs of the old double feature drive in movies.
in the theater they showed Planet Terror first and then Death Proof, but they can be watched in any order.
btw, i would definetely recommend watching the fake trailers. They are funny as hellComment

They are hilarious but unfortunatly they didnt include them on either DVD, which really sucks.Comment

Re: I'm confused (Grindhouse movies)
yeah, the movie comapny behind the film dropped the ball on everything. They cared about making money instead of sticking with the idea and theme of the movies. This movie was never going to appeal to many more than what it did in theaters, and cutting it up on DVD while leaving out the hilarious trailers only pisses off the ones that wanted it anyways.Comment

Agreed. I thoroughly enjoyed Grindhouse when I saw it in theaters but I refuse to purchase it on dvd unless they release a set with both movies together and all those great fake trailers.Comment

Re: I'm confused (Grindhouse movies)
Because Grindhouse is meant to be a threatrical experience, the movies were a double feature, with little to no ties between them.
But I agree.Comment

Re: I'm confused (Grindhouse movies)
I think the trailers were left off because they want to do a double dip....they see.....MONEY, MONEY, MONEY.
The Machete trailer was awesome, I think their going to make that into a movie correct?Comment

Althought, Eli Roth keeps joking that he's going to make "Thanksgiving".Comment

Re: I'm confused (Grindhouse movies)
The Weinsteins are notorious for double dipping. They are doing the same thing with Kill Bill. The original DVDs were pretty bare and a rep from Miramax even admitted that they planeed on releasing a deluxe DVD letter.Comment

Discs are pretty loaded otherwise though.Comment

Re: I'm confused (Grindhouse movies)
It actually wasn't that big of a deal for me. I found all the trailers online, put them on a DVD and it's in the one of the cases. I figure, there's no way it all fits on one disc anyway with both movies and all the trailers. So when I switch movies, I can play the trailers
