Star Wars live action television series: late 2009

This has been in the pipeline for a while, but details are beginning to emerge.

So apparently it will be darker and more character-based than the movies, with Boba Fett featured in an "instrumental" role. So far so good, I guess. I assume they have basically unlimited funds, so it shouldn't be too hard making a TV show look like a movie in this case as far as effects and visuals go. I just hope it doesn't suffer from the near-constant green screening like the prequels did.

Obviously, the late 2009 time line hinges on either the writers' strike ending soon, or Lucasfilm being able to hammer out an independent deal with the WGA. I hope either one happens because I'm eager to see whether Lucas uses this series to atone for the mostly terrible prequels, or to further bastardize the Star Wars legacy....

Hmm Rick McCallum...The name sounds familiar. Was he involved in Star Trek: The Next Generation?

I think this could be cool.

I never did watch the Young Indiana Jones though. Any good?

I always liked it when it was on. Looking forward to the live action Star Wars show from what I've read. If Battlestar Galactica and Firefly are tv shows they've looked at emulating, I'm all for that. They couldn't have picked two better sci-fi tv shows than those.
