I think they did fulfill their potential. How can you not when you have this many classic albums under your belt:

36 Chambers
Tical
Return of the 36 Chambers
Only Built for Cuban Links
Liquid Swords
Ironman
Wu-Tang Forever
Supreme Clientele

No rap group can claim that many possible classics. Outkast and Tribe are the next closest.

Oh, if you count all the solo albums then without a damn doubt they lived up to their potential. I was only talking about their group efforts.

Yeah Hot Boys were terrible, they had like one song that I liked.

To me it's Wu Tang and D-Block, but D-block way more. Loved them back in the LOX days, and still listen to them. Supposed to be coming out with a group album this year.

Oh, if you count all the solo albums then without a damn doubt they lived up to their potential. I was only talking about their group efforts.

I count them because most of the clan was featured on those albums. They were the first group to even do such a thing from what I can remember. A movement like theirs will never be seen again in hip-hop. I feel sorry for younger hip-hop fans that could not experience it in it's full glory.

I gotta roll with Mobb Deep. My boys Havoc and Prodigy have been for the most part consistent with their sound and image since their introduction. Both solo cds were hot as well.

A close 2nd is Outkast. If they didn't experiment too much they would of easily been #1 but they got a few to many inconsistencies with their music for me.

Wu would of been nice for the list but they fell off as a group over the years.
