Which lead singer do you prefer, David Lee Roth or Sammie Hagar?

It's criminal in my mind to think Sammy was better than Dave, but then it may depend on how old you are, VH was pretty damn popular with Hagar.

My first real concert was the 1984 tour. I still to this day can't believe my parents let a 14 year old go to it. I remain corrupted by their evil ways to this day.....

I know I'm gonna be in the minority and take heat for this, but I prefer Hagar to Roth. I don't know why, but I love Sammy's voice, he's got a great rock voice, and I saw them live here in Champaign, and he was fronting them, so that probably helped.

Now, I am in no way saying DLR is not awesome, because he is a great frontman as well.

same here, I really like Roth also but Hagar would be my #1 choice.

I'm torn between both. I'm too young to have experienced the DLR days but I like his voice and I believe his live performances were always awesome and energetic (never saw him live, info from parents/older cousins). Now the later Hagar days I remember. Probably one of the best Rock voice I've ever heard. Both groups were awesome, but I'm gonna give a slight edge to Hagar.

I'm one of those out there that like both, they are almost 2 different kinds of music. Van Halen is the partying drink til you drop, whereas Van Hager is when you're all settled down and just looking to relax.
