Unless you have an 360 Elite, component (Red, Green, Blue+audio cables) is what you use. Do NOT use composite (Yellow, red, white) b/c you'd be getting the WORST picture possible.
Another option is to go with VGA cables b/c that would allow you to select the resolution and allow for standard DVD upconversion. Plus you could hook your 360 up to a LCD computer monitor.

Aside from 360 and just TV and movie viewing....You'll want an HDMI cable for digital video and sound...all in one cable. I can't tell a huge difference in PQ from component cables, but sure is a whole lot cleaner with less wires running around all over the place. If you have a HDMI stereo receiver this would be a no brainer.

Get a HDMI cable for less than $9 shipped at www.monoprice.com

Digital signals are all or nothing. No need spending a lot on them when cheap gets you the same picture and sound.

I have Acoustic Research cables that I got on eBay for about 75 percent less than Monster cables, and they work every bit as well.

Don't get ripped off blind by Monster cables.

I definitely won't. I appreciate the advice very much. Thank you.

Man I really do appreciate you guys taking your time and helping someone like myself who isn't too experienced when it comes to electronics. The cables I was talking about are the red, yellow and white cables that came with the 360 so I shouldn't use those, right? So I should pick up the VGA cables to use to hook my 360 up to the tv? Thanks guys.

Correct. What you are describing are composite cables, you definitely want better than those. You want either component or VGA. Good luck

Thanks again dude. This was alot of help to me. I really appreciate it. I did some researching and I found a 42" Vizio at Sam's Club for I believe, since I can't remember correctly, $887.88 and so far that's been the best bet. So I may go with that.
