i rarely care about politics when it comes to music and entertainment. I usually dont care at all if a band or song is extremely liberal or extremely conservative

but RAM is so over the top and extreme with their crap it's impossible for me to ignore it. Ive seen them overseas and it's worse.

anyway, dont want to turn this into a political discussion. My bad.

I may be late to the party, but have you guys heard of this band The Beatles? I heard one of their songs the other day...pretty good stuff.

F the police is a great track, since you're into hip-hop I think you'll enjoy it
Wake Up- great, great song (it was in the Matrix soundtrack too)
            Guerilla Radio is awesome
            People of the Sun

Check them out and give us a heads up about how you like them. I think their music is pretty damn powerful too from a lyrical and thematic standpoint. BoP just sounded good when I first heard it (when I was 13 or so) but the messages in the song are a lot more subtle.

            Better late than never

We aren't talking about actual politics, so I doubt this is going to get the thread locked. But I don't understand how you can say the sentence "I usually dont care at all if a band or song is extremely liberal or extremely conservative" and follow it up with saying you don't like them because they have extreme politics... makes no sense. Obviously you don't like political lyrics that are more extreme than Toby Keith writing a song about 9/11, which is fine, so why pretend you do?

The live versions of Bulls on Parade & How I Can Just Kill a Man are pretty much my favorite RATM tracks. I'm late as hell too. I just got put onto that stuff about a year or so ago.

Yeah, the live version of "Kick Out the Jams" leading into "How I Can Just Kill a Man" with Cypress Hill is pretty damn awesome.

i dont like bands that are as extremely political as RATM is. I guess there are different levels of extreme, and they are at the maximum level.

I dont go for that, especially when i dont agree with what they are being so political about

Obviously you don't like political lyrics that are more extreme than Toby Keith writing a song about 9/11, which is fine, so why pretend you do?
lol where did i say i was "fine" with Toby Keith? I cant stand Toby Keith

i dont like Toby Keith's corny *** political songs, but that is not the reason why i cant stand him...i cant stand him, and i cant listen to him, because he SUCKS. Im a huge country music fan, but not really "mainstream country". Toby Keith is one of the things that is wrong with "mainstream country". Toby Keith sucks.

RATM is actually a good band, i just dont go for their particular radical political stances. I actually consider them as an enemy. You mentioned Toby Keith and his 9/11 song...RATM would probably praise 9/11 and attacks on America, knowing what they stand for.

Rage Against The Machine is great, as is Bulls on Parade.
