RIP Suzanne Pleshette and Allan Melvin

Although Suzanne Pleshette name is more familiar Allan Melvin's contribution to TV history cannot be denied. My favorites were the two episodes (as different characters) that he bullied Barney Fife on "The Andy Griffith Show". Pleshette was 71, Melvin 84.

Yeah, remember how they ended the Newhart show the one with Larry, Darrel and Darrel, they had it be all a dream and when he woke up Mary Fran wasn't his wife it was her.

Ironically Allan Melvin was "Barney" on "All In The Family" who would make cameos especially in earlier shows.

Suzanne Pleshette was a knock out. And although many a college student back then knew what The Bob Newhart Show game was, just as many were interested in Bob's wife.

2 great small screen actors who will be missed.

That's where I initially remembered him from; I had no idea about his other work... When I first saw his pic, I was like, "Isn't that the dude who played Barney on "All in the Family?"

Sadly, as I was doing some more reading up on Suzanne Pleshette, I found out that Mary Frann passed away 10 years ago... Had no idea.

Me neither-she died fairly young at 55.
