    DirecTV DVR Scheduler now working

Good new for the DirecTV fans, they have enabled remote booking (DVR scheduling) for users that have the HR-20 receiver. Basically you can log into your DirecTV account online and go to listing and tell your DVR to record any show and it will send a signal to your DVR to record it. You can also do this from mobile phones at http://m.directv.com as well.

I just logged and and told it to record a show and it sent me a confirmation email. I will check to see if it recorded when I get home. Really cool feature!!

That's nice to have. Now I have a feature missing from the old TiVo. They've also enabled on demand downloading of shows, but you probably already knew that.

I've had it for awhile with U-Verse

It's cool if you are at work and need to record something, and forgot to set it up. Like my wife wanted to see something on the news, she called me on her way to work, I logged in and set it up.

I just tried it with my Blackberry as well, works like a charm and very easy to use.

Yeah, I've got the DoD working also. Selection still pretty limited, and I still need to find a wireless card that uses the Cat 5 port.

That's awesome. Just another thing pushing me towards getting DirecTV.

Yeah, something about they couldn't call it VOD, so it is Directv on Demand or something like that.

If you want to know about anything to do with DTV and get the software updates first, go to dbstalk.com and register there. Then go to the CE forum and they will tell you when DTV is sending an update out for beta testing. You will get updates and patches sooner than the general public and hardly ever do they screw anything up. If it does screw something up, you can go back to the national released version of software.
