Cell Phone Issue (Help Needed)

Everytime I attempt to write a text message, my cell phone shuts off. I have an "Alltel" Samsung Sch-a645 Series This one cell phone, at least that's what I think it's called. That's the only time it'll do this, is when I attempt to write a text message. I've had my phone for a little over a year and this is the first time it's done this. Usually I'm not a big "texter," but lately I've done some texting here and there. It's really annoying since I just got unlimited texting too.

I tried taking out the battery and putting it back in, and nothing changed. Not sure what may have caused this, but maybe some OS member has experienced something like this. Any tips on how to fix this? Obviously I could just take it to Alltel, but I'm sure they'll just want me to buy a new phone or charge me for something stupid.

Most phones now have a feature where you can "Restore Factory Settings" and if you've taken the battery out and it still has done the same thing, then you might want to try and restore it's factory settings if your phone has that feature.

Also, go into the phone info of your phone, the software you have on your phone may not be the newest software available. That can cause glitches.

Theres only one Samsung on there. Might wanna call Alltell regardless to see if thats a known issue. Also if theres any chance your under a year you probably have a manufacture warranty on it.
