    High-speed internet via Directv

Next month I am switching to directv for my tv programming. Apparently, they also offer high-speed internet as well. Does anyone use directv for internet or know anyone that does? If so, what have you heard regarding the quality of their service? Any insight/info would be appreciated.

Indeed if you are a online gamer then cable is the way to go.

I know most people that game and have a dish also have cable because the dish sucks for gaming as it looses sync and drops the game connection quite often.

But for cost and TV programming they swear by the dish.

As for just regular internet use those I know with both use the cable for internet because of to mush issues with the dish especially with downloading.

Isnt the DT internet nothing more then Verizon DSL? I know Verizon is a partner with Directv and you can package them together. If this is what you are talking about, I have heard nothing but bad things about them, all the reasons listed before are the ones I constantly hear on my end as well.

My understanding was that DirectTV internet was mostly for those in remote area with no other broadband access and that the monthly bill was over $100.

Most markets are DSL I think. They offer AT&T DSL for me with DirectTV (which since my area went to Comcast I am highly considering switching). I am a little miffed about local channels in HD, especially CBS.

Kodiak, you're miffed about HD local channels because they AREN'T available through DirectTV in YOUR area?
