    War of the Worlds

Watching this thing for the 1st time tonight. & I must say, it irritates the heck out of me. Why does Hollywood think disobedient, bratty, rebellious, spoiled, rotten delinquents are cute? I've been rooting for Cruise & his snot-nosed runts to get vaporized ever since the Martians landed.

The guy who was the D.J. at my wedding reception is an extra in this movie. You can actually see him really well in the beginning when Wackjob-Cruise is looking down into the hole in the street and all the people are crowded around him.

We can have a competition of who knows an extra in the crappiest movie ever.

My buddy was an extra in Pearl Harbor.

            Top that.

A guilty pleasure of mine. I hate Cruise and those kids needed to be put down but the the 1st half of the movie I thought Speilberg provided a great sense of tension and dread. As soon as they visit Tim Robbins and the idiotic conclusion with the snotty son it made the movie seem alot worse than it really was and people forgot that only half of it was terrible. I wish Speilberg could just remake the last 40 minutes or so in the same vein as the 1st half and this movie would have been amazing.

I liked the movie myself. But I also don't have the hatred many have for Tom Cruise - I actually like him. The kids were extremely spoiled in the movie though and deserved to get vaporized. I really like these world crisis/apocalypse movies (I Am Legend, Armageddon, etc.) when they're done decently
HBO's "The Wire" should rank as one of the top 10 shows EVER on tv - period

I swear I think I watched Armageddon about 50 times while I was in Kuwait before the war started.

I agree with Seymour. The first half of the movie was much better than the second.

Decent enough for me to buy, at least. There are some parts that sorta tick me off, but it's decent.
