Re: Super Bowl Ads
I think me and my friends are the only people that thought the Sales Genie commercials were hilarious. We're not racist, but they were still pretty damn funny.Comment

Re: Super Bowl Ads
Who gives a crap? Those SalesGenie commercials did EXACTLY what they were supposed to do--get people talking.
Why must everyone get their panties in a bunch about every damn thing in this country?
I would kill for an ad making fun of Armenians in the Super Bowl. Too bad we're not culturally relevant. Actually that's a good thing, because most Armenians are ****ing stupid.
Just because it gets people talking doesn't make it fair game. They could have a zoom-in close-up shot of John Goodman's crotch for 30 seconds and at the end have the words "Sales Genie" pop up and it would spark controversy and get people talking. In fact, that would be a much funnier and more intriguing commercial than played-out stereotypes of Asians through the use of panda bears.
The commercial was racist, but more than being racist, it was stupid and unimaginative, which is the main reason I didn't like it.
Edit: Also, I didn't even know what company did that commercial until you mentioned it in your post. Bad commercial. Bad job.Last edited by Brankles; 02-04-2008, 11:21 PM.Comment

Re: Super Bowl Ads
I think it's stupid to get upset over small things in our country... everyone trying to be politically correct about every little thing. But "Ching Ching" and "Ling Ling" the pandas? What if it was a commercial of other minorities acting like some belittling cartoon stereotypes, that commercial would never get aired.

Re: Super Bowl Ads
That Panda bear ad was basically the same thing as actors appearing in black face, imo. Just because they get attention doesn't make it right....no way, no how.Comment

Jesus, you're right...
His career has been reduced to being in one of the worst commercials of all time.
As far as my favorites go... The the little money making baby puking on himself was good, and I thought the Will Ferrell Bud Light Commercial was hilarious.

Re: Super Bowl Ads
None of these commercials really made me laugh. I think most people (I was with like 15-20 other guys) laughed because they felt like they should've. I chuckled a bit, but not an actual laugh.
The best one was the Justin Timberlake one. I like how they used one of his weird, girly scream things from one of his songs in the commercial. The Coke floats was creative too. Everything else was pretty average.NHL - Philadelphia Flyers
NFL - Buffalo Bills
MLB - Cincinnati Reds

Re: Super Bowl Ads
I thought the Coke Floats commercial was pretty cool. It was nice to see Charlie Brown have something positive happen to him for a change.
