Somebody please help me understand.... Nina Hagen

I happened across this freakazoid on Youtube one night:

There's tons of videos of her on there and typically nothing but acclaim and adoration (well, I'm assuming the ones written in German are positive as well). I'm...er.....just not getting it.

Wow, I haven't thought about her since the late 70's when she came out in the glut of post punk / New Wave stuff that the major labels signed...

I assumed she made an album or two and then disappeared...

What is the name of the guy to her right? I can't remember what show he was on but he definitely was cracking me up a bit with his remarks to what she was saying. Clearly, she isn't/wasn't all there.

Don Rickles was the man....he could rip you to shreds if you messed with him. I wish I could find the video of him killing a heckler that was stepping all over a comedian on a show he hosted. The guy had to get up and walk out...hysterical.

There is a fairly recent one where he was given a tribute show by Jimmy Kimmel. 3 parts of it are on Youtube. He still has it.

Back to regarding Hagen. Just look around at all the comments people make on her videos. It's like they're ready to canonize her!
