I agree. I never bought that many HD-DVDs anyway.

I have more HD-DVD's than Bluray but I just want someone to win. Don't care who.

Agreed. I picked up a PS3 for The Show and Blu Ray, and am trying to sell my HD player and 11 HD movies. Luckily, most of the HD movies were gifts around XMas time, so I won't be out too much money. I just want Blu Ray to win and it be over with, so I can really start building a good collection.

Guess i'll switch to Blockbuster online for now. I'm not buying a ps3 or a bluray player until they drop in price. I don't really get why netflix is doing this. Alot of people still have HD-DVD players and not too mention Universal and Paramount movies are only available on HD-DVD. No way i'm blind buying any movies either. I have to really like a movie before I buy the DVD.

I wonder how long it will be before Blockbuster drops their HD-DVD's online too? They are already Blu-Ray exclusive in their stores.

I don't think competition is such a horrible thing.

Mods, sorry that this is sort of a duplicate, but I also posted in the Blu-ray, HD DVD thread:

                        Here we go:

This is the email message that I received from Netflix.

Plus, this just made it on ABC Channel 7 News about Netflix going Blu.

it's not but both formats will fail if this goes on too long. Very confusing to most consumers. A lot of people are waiting for a clear winner before they pull the trigger also.

I don't like the competition when it's so expensive...I dunno, I just want to have one version that I know will be used for years. This is different than video game systems which reset every 4-5 years, a next gen DVD format could last 10+ years. I'd prefer to avoid another VHS vs. Betamax...that's competition that just delays the inevitable (one winning over the other). I don't think the HD movie market can support 2 formats long term, just my opinion.

VHS-Beta battled for over a decade. What makes this battle so different?
