I love the History channel especially dogfights, shootouts, and gangland. But I will watch all of it but the end of the world stuff. I actually enjoyed the Hitler stuff, it is amazing how crazy he was and how people followed.

I've been the same. TLC HD, Discovery HD, Discovery Theater HD and NatGeo HD are always on at my house.

My fiance loves the show "Dog Whisperer" on NatGeo HD. Needless to say the DVR is full of that show!

The History channel is excellent. I really enjoy the shows about ghosts...especially the one's where they show reported pictures people took of ghosts at war memorials and other sites.

Why don't you guys like the end of the world stuff? I didn't know I was the odd-ball out, especially since that's all my ex-gf and I watched.

Re: Anyone addicted to the History channel

I love history in general and this channel definitely helps feed the craving. Some shows are hit-or-miss, I hate when they do the ones that are more like a story or reenactment (maybe it's Discovery that does this more often) instead of a straight documentary.

I liked some of it, but there were a couple weekends or so that they were pretty devoted to the end of the world theme. I guess for me, some of it is interesting, but a lot of it is just guesswork. The whole Mayan calander merely changes phase, that doesn't mean the world will explode or something. They can be interesting, but it just kind of is a downer.

PBS does a lot of good history stuff. And most of their shows are in HD.

Because it's annoying seeing the exact same kind of shows over and over again.

If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)
