IIRC he was one of the soldiers in whatever group Hawkins was in. (obviously). I want to say he was one of Hawkins partners before the chick came along. I'm so glad this show is back.

Watching the first episode I don't know why but I kept getting the feeling that Chavez isn't who he seems to be. Maybe I'm looking for some twist that isn't really there but I keep expecting him to turn on Hawkins.

I don't know, I've been waiting for a Hawkins twist since the 3rd episode. I don't think a big twist is coming until 3 or more episodes. I do think Chavez will turn on him, but not until Hawkins (or someone else) gets the word out. I do think it's cool how they made Texas a separate country.

over the weekend and finishing tonight i downloaded every episode on xbox like. this show is f'in great. although its same drama as every other show the basic premise is completely off the beaten path and i like it. im glad i missed the whole cancellation thing and i just get to watch it every week now. for those of you who havent watched it i would def reccoment watching the first 3 episodes and go from there. I was planning on downloading the first 2 episodes of lost and jerich to try and find a new "show" that i like. I havent had a "show" since sopranos ended. truth be told i never got around to watching lost and im pumped about this show.

I was under the impression this was the final season, but I guess I was wrong. The guy clearly said "season" when talking about there being 3 episodes left. I hope there's not another really, really long layoff coming.

It got renewed, from what I've heard. Originally there were only 7 episodes for this season, but there should be more on the way.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure they'd said all along that there were only going to be 7 episodes for this season. There's a TV biz word for these middle of the season shows that are shorter episodically I just don't remember it. Jericho is in that role from what I've heard.

Season 1 was the best. This season is off to a slow start for me. This is still the only show I watch on TV besides sports though........

The seven episodes were more of a test run. If they did well, the network would extend the contract, but I am unsure of what they have done or what they are going to do.

For tonights episode, wow. I can't believe they killed off Bonnie. At first, it seemed a little corny as there was no real climatic rise to J&R / Ravenwood killing off Mimi, but this is going to blow the town up. Beck needs to pick a side quick before he is caught up with the wrong side.

Yeah, that time slot sucks. IMO, I do not think Mimi will die, because with Bonnie out of the way (sad, but ture), the writers can focus more on Stanley and his struggles. Mimi will take a while to get back to health and this allows for Stanley to become some sort of renegade or vigilante.

On a side note, does anyone else notice that Jake (Skeet) is a skinny fat guy. He has a big ole gut on him which looks really funny. Maybe that is why he usually wears black to hide it....

Gather your nuts, Jericho fans, because here we go again.

Jericho was surrounded by friends and family when it was finally laid to rest.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, CBS has decided to cancel the apocalyptic drama...again. Citing sources, the trade says that producers have been told the show is ending its run.

One of the feel-good stories of last season, Jericho survived cancellation thanks to a well-publicized fan campaign that changed the minds of CBS executives. The network granted the show a shortened second season of just seven episodes, the last of which airs Tuesday.

Jericho producers prepared for the worse and shot two season finales, one of which would lose any cliffhanger ending and serve as a series finale. That ending will air Tuesday.

"In what we call our original ending... that one simply continues the story and starts the mission for season three," executive producer Carol Barbee told TV.com earlier this year. "The alternate ending just doesn't do that. It brings everybody together and you see where everybody is and it gives a lot more emotional resolution."

It's been a long roller coaster ride for Jericho's crew and fans, but in the end, the "speculative fiction" drama just couldn't bring in the viewers. The show pulled in comparable numbers to its first season, and tailed off dramatically after the season premiere.

The chances of another miracle revival are slim, as CBS already gave the show a chance and cable outlets won't risk footing the bill of the show's production.

[UPDATE] CBS has issued a statement regarding the cancellation of Jericho: "The March 25th episode of Jericho will be the series finale. Without question, there are passionate viewers watching this program; we simply wish there were more. We thank an engaged and spirited fan base for keeping the show alive this long, and an outstanding team of producers, cast and crew that went through creative hoops to deliver a compelling, high quality second season. We have no regrets bringing the show back for a second try. We listened to our viewers, gave the series an opportunity to grow, and the producers put a great story on the screen. We're proud of everyone's efforts."
