Firefox issue

I just bought a new router and right off the bat I've been having issues with Firefox. A lot of times, websites wont load and I'll get the "Server not Found" page. If I hit try again, it will usually load within 2 or 3 tries. However, if I have more than one tab open, every tab other than the first will suffer the Server not Found issue, and it can take anywhere between 10-15 times of "Try Again" to get it to load.

Streaming videos has been tough too as a lot of times on Youtube or any other video player, the video won't get past the loading page unless I refresh the page. Also, if its a page with ads or pictures, a lot of times the page will load but there will be a little box saying "Serve Not Found" where the ad or pic should be.

I never had this problem with my old router, and it seems that my computer is the only one affected since I'm on a network with 3 other computers that aren't having any problems at all.

Did you try completely deleting/reinstalling FF? Make sure you delete your profile too through Windows Explorer.

I had some annoying glitch a while back (made on post on here too) where pics and graphics would never fully load on pages. I deleted everything and then I was back in business. It sounds somewhat similar to what you're experiencing.

Have you tried it with IE as well and see if the same thing is happening?

If the same kind of thing is happening on IE it's probably the router. Every few months I have to unplug my router then plug it back to get the DNS working again.

Ehh- I uninstalled and reinstalled (losing my bookmarks in the process because I of course forgot to back them up) and no change

Fish- Weird thing is...if I try to load the page in IE first...its okay more often than in Firefox. If I try in Firefox and it fails and then I try in IE...then it doesnt work at all.

Why would every other computer on the router not have a problem at all then?

That's what I was getting at, it sounds like a dns issue. Put this number in your address bar and see if google comes up fast. 64.233.187.99

Yeah it came up right away.

Definitely sounds like a DNS issue with the new router. Might want to call your ISP and ask them about it.

I think he can just change his DNS server on the router, couldn't he? Not sure if it's on his modem or router.

sounds like it's hard wired? may want to try a different ethernet cable

Yes, but usually DNS is acquired automatically through the ISP.

I guess I'll call my ISP later...but like I asked...why arent any of my other computers affected?

Let me ask.. Is this computer running Vista?

I ask cause there is a known issue with Vista and their networking protocols.
