Cell Phone problem... not getting calls/texts sometimes

I'm with AT&T, and I got a new phone a little after Christmas after mine broke. It's basically the same phone, just a toned down version (Sony Ericsson Z520a to Sony Ericsson Z310a).

I switched out Sim Cards and everything, and things were working well at first. Then my friends and roommates would tell me that they tried and tried to call me only to have it go strait to Voicemail. Or they would text me and I wouln't get it until I sent a text or something else set it off.

So I called AT&T, and we thought we had it figured out at the time... I hadn't told them that I got a new phone so I wasn't getting the right updates and stuff that they were sending me.

So AT&T updated the information, and things were working well for a week or two. Then, it started happening again. I'm not getting calls at all sometimes, and I often don't get texts until I send one out myself (So, every so often I send myself a text).

Any tips other than calling AT&T again? I don't know if this is a common problem or what.

I don't know about the problems you were having. A couple of fridays ago I was having terrible problems with texting with AT&T. I sent a text to my friend asking if he could give me a lift to a basketball game that was kinda out there and I didn't want to waste gas. I sent the message at about two and didn't get a reply back, so I ended up going to the game. We got to the game which the girls game started a 6 and the guys at 7 and it wasn't about till 8 until he got that message I sent at 2. So AT&T was screwy that day, but that's the only time I can recall having problems.

We were still able to call each other and what not.
