    Firefox 3 beta 3

anyone "messing" around with it? I have been (still use the regular FF for paying bills and such) and have to say, I cannot wait for the actual release. Seems to run even a little faster than FF 2.0.12, and has a better search option.

I'll wait until the final release. I think a lot of the extensions I use won't work with 3 anyway which would make it worthless for me.

How many versions are they going to come up with? I swear I just downloaded the newest version last week.

If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)

they basically do the same thing with all browsers - updating features and security features (course MS does it with it's "patches").. with FF, they just keep building on what they call a "release candidate" and continue to fix it until it's ready..

I'll never, ever use an "alpha" release though

                    Re: Firefox 3 beta 3

Anyone trying the Firefox 3 Beta 5 version yet? I downloaded it tonight and the first thing I noticed is the ad-block image in the right corner is no longer there but still seems to be working anyways since I still dont see the adds here at OS. I noticed that nyisles16 mentioned using the full version to pay bills, now how do you know which version you are using? I just click on the firefox icon in the system tray, I have an idea how to do this but I figured I would ask anyways to get clarification.

If anyone is aware, what are the drawbacks to Firefox 3 anyways? Ive heard people saying it doesnt support their add-ons, and to be honest I downloaded it to use the Internet Explorer tab add-on to avoid having to use IE for anthing anymore but it still isnt downloading for some reason. Now I only have Tab Mix Plus, which I still am unsure what it does, Ad-Block Plus and StumbleUpon so its not like I have much going on anyways so it may not effect me, but I would be curious to see what add-ons dont work with the beta if anyone has a link to a list of some sort.

EDIT- Okay now Im confused. I didnt care for the beta, just seemed to change things I didnt want changed so I took it off and went back to the previous version. Now that Ive gone back, the forward and back buttons are gone, the ad-block link in the upper right corner isnt there so I cant customize that anymore either, where did it all go? I dont get why its done this, I didnt have these problems before this so why do I have them all of a sudden?

I am actually running both on my system - the full Firefox 2 -- whatever release they have now, and the latest beta..

The problem I used to have is when I installed both, they would go into the same folder.. so then my latest install, I changed both the folder the beta would go into as well as a different start menu folder.. If you don't do this, then it seems that at a point, one "becomes" the other..
