They should make this a prequel, and called it Bourne Infancy

The prequel should show the wet jobs that he was ordered to do when he was an assasin, with a touch of Splinter Cell-ism.

don't blame yeah it's one of those series of films you either saw at first and were like cool or never even bothered because of how much else there was in the theaters. movies come out too fast so do games and so does music not good music but music nonetheless

I thought three was a great conclusion to the trilogy (well, was a trilogy), and so did everyone I know. Different tastes I guess.

Anyways, if Matt Damon is attached, i'm there. The Bourne's are some of my favorite movies.

I would have this opinion if the sequels had been progressively worse, but IMO they've all been great. I can't even pick out which one is my favorite of the three.

Three is probably my favorite of all of them. It's amazing, in my opinion.

I'm sure they'll call this the Bourne Legacy, but much like the first three - it will have nothing to do with the actual book.

I would absolutely love it, however, if they want back to the books and had the fourth one finally be about Carlos Vs Bourne.

I've never gotten why people say this. If they did make the next one horrible what difference would it make? The first three aren't going to all of a sudden change because the most recent movie sucked.

And hey...Damon/Greengrass made the first three very good...why is everyone suddenly so worried the fourth will be ****?

I absolutely hate the movies.. I'm still pissed they left out the main conflict from the novels.

Yeah I could see if they had a new director and new Bourne but the same people are going to be doing the fourth.

Exactly. It's not like they're suddenly going to forget what they did to make the first three movies good.

Hell, it's not even like (as someone above said) the movies got progressively worse. I, actually, think they got better. Never once did this series suffer from the usual Hollywood "outlandish sequel syndrome" that took them from the roots of the first, or second, movie.

I highly doubt this movie is going to ruin the Bourne franchise, and like I said earlier I hope they take the opportunity to go back and somehow work the Bourne Vs Carlos into the fourth movie. It'd be amazing.

Because, much like broken trilogies, the third one becomes demoralized after it set up so much for an ending. If you remember Randy Meeks in Scream 3, he explains the rules of a trilogy, and it follows quite well with things like Scream (of course), Star Wars 4 - 6, Saw, The Godfather, The Matrix, [somewhat] Spider-Man, and probably many more (haven't seen Lord of the Rings or the last two Pirates movies). It has a feeling of emotion and uncertain fate, and most trilogies clue into things that we were led to believe were true since the beginning, but in fact weren't (in this case, Bourne was not always Bourne, and he chose to go to them, not the other way around).

At any rate, making a fourth one after seemingly the ultimate piece was resolved, cliffhangers or not, takes the power away from what the third one was all about... ending the series.

Believe me, I would want for the fourth Bourne movie to kick more *** than the other three combined. But that doesn't change the fact that it probably shouldn't be made. I wouldn't have minded as much if they made it and concluded it with the story that The Bourne Ultimatum told, but this just isn't the case.

The simple fact you are even using Scream in your trilogy discussion, ends all credibility.

Meh, yes and no. It seems as though most trilogies follow that same guideline. Where a trilogy has a distinct beginning, middle, and end (as well as birth, life, and death), the third chapter always seems to represent end/death in the trilogies listed, including the Bourne series.

t really doesn't change anything, especially since they didn't have a definitive ending for the series. Even if they did and just added a crappy 4th one I still don't understand how that would change how good you think that the first three were.
