Not sure about Layer Cake. Give me some serious action. Black Hawk Down, The Bourne Ultimatum, i'd even do the cheesy live free and die hard.
Black Hawk Down is siick on Blu-ray and PQ and SQ are awesome...especially the SQ on surround sound.

Layer Cake is an under rated movie imo.

Not entirely sure, but it has George Clooney, has to do with lawyers, and got some Oscar nominations.

Layer Cake is a gangster movie. If Gangster movies arent your forte than I understand. Clayton is a very good law drama.

Best Buy just dropped the prices on HD DVD's to almost reflect Amazon prices to a degree + they have a bunch of $10 titles. I may grab Dune for $10.

FOX just announced that they are dropping the MSRP on catalog titles. I can't wait for this one, there are a bunch of FOX Blu's that I want, but won't pay the outrageous prices.

Circuit City trading in HD-DVD players for Blu-Ray

According to a Circuit City employee in Chicago, the consumer electronics chain is trading in HD DVD players bought into their stores "within 3 months of the announcement," as opposed to their 30-day return policy. According to the internal memo announcing the demise of the format, they will either give customers a Blu-ray player—paying the price difference, if any—or a gift card. The trade-in, however, will not be widely promoted and it will be only made available if the customer asks for it. Have any of you tried this?

                    Honestly,

It's cheaper to just buy a brand new A-30 HD DVD player and a Playstation 3 than it is to buy a combo player.

It's not THAT big of a deal to have to press the "input" button on your TV remote ONE more time than normal and save 400 bucks than have a dual player IMO.

Not really. I bought my 5000 for 599 from Amazon. A ps3 is 399 and a a30 is 130. Its not like its a big difference in price. Plus there are some people like me who have a limited number of hd inputs.

aholbert, you might want to contact Amazon...they have this player for $549 this week, unless it went back up. I tried to send you an IM on AIM the other day to let you know.
