It has done this literally more than 20 times in the last 4-5 hours. I've already unplugged everything for a few minutes and plugged them back in like they said to do in the troubleshooting guide too. In fact, the modem is flashing red right now so I have to wait until it regains the connection to submit this message. This sucks. Any thoughts?
Are you having weather issues or anything? It also might have been a bad hookup. If it persists I would get ATT out there ASAP.

Been a U-Verse customer for almost 2 years now and I've loved every aspect of it. Blows my experiences with both Dish and Comcast out of the water.

Well, the guy who installed my stuff yesterday gave me his cell number and I called him a little bit ago and he is coming back over to my house in a little while after he finishes his current job to run some tests and see if he can find the solution to the problem. Good thing I treated the dude well and tipped him yesterday because I'd rather just deal with him "off the books" then have to deal with customer service and all that jazz. I guess I'm just old school like that.

They aren't doing that for you, its so they don't get a charge-back when you call customer support for something that went wrong with the install. Probably something wrong with the router or the signal.

Still having the same issues. Installer is coming back over first thing this morning. This is really starting to get annoying and I am going to be calling DirecTV really soon if this doesn't get sorted out.

He just left. He hooked up a protection filter inside my house to the router/modem/hub and another one outside my house to the actual phone box. He also put in a ticket for the phone company to send a line man out here to check the lines from my house all the way to the source box. Lucky for me that my source box is a mere 400 feet away from my house. Hopefully this will take care of this problem as it was just getting absurd. During the MNC game last night alone, the signal failed and reset itself 14 times. I counted!

I'm seriously considering switching over to Uverse from Cox Cable, now that it's available in my neighborhood. It looks like I'd be paying a few bucks less, yet I'd be getting more channels in return(especially when it comes to HD). The main selling point is actually the sports package. For an extra 10 bucks a month it looks like I can basically get access to most of the MLB games I currently pay Cox an extra 160 bucks a year for in Extra Innings. Especially bravo games through FSN South and Sports South. Now I just have to convince my girlfriend that it's a good idea.

nope, unless you are in the market for those teams/channels, the games are blacked out

I love the service as a whole, but the fact that we still don't have NBA TV, MLB Network or an option to purchase the Extra Innings package completely sucks on so many levels.

Have had nothing but problems with it, particularly the signal to the "satellite DVRs". Early on technicians came to "fix" the problems SIX times. Then there was a 2 week period of virtually no glitches or freezes, and then suddenly the entire service is out for 8 days (was refunded $40). Once the service was restored the "satellite DVR" problems surface again.

Near the end of my patience rope.

Re: Anyone have ATT Uverse TV?

I had all of that same crap happen to me in the beginning too. Was told to disregard the first bill and they had credited my account for the entire first month. I didn't pay, as they instructed me to, and about two weeks later they turned off my service. I went to the AT&T store and paid cash to have it immediately have my service turned back on only to be charged an extra $90 reactivation fee. Seriously? $90 for some to literally press a button is absolutely absurd.

After the first month the service has been great though, although their billing department is always trying to sneak in hidden fees. After getting these several times I called them and threatened to cancel my account to sign up with DirecTV and they credited my account $300 and never charged me any hidden fees again.

Suffice it to say, the service has been awesome for the past year or so, but the first few months were hell.

Re: Anyone have ATT Uverse TV?

I'm resurrecting this old thread, but how is Uverse these days?

I had a salesman come to my house this evening and offered a sweet deal which would save me about $65 a month over Comcast. I'm having them install on Monday and the first 30 days is free of charge.

With the deal, I got 1 DVR and 2 receivers, the U200 HD package, 18mb internet, and unlimited phone for $137 total a month.

Does Uverse have any caps on downloads?

I've had U-Verse for the last year and love it after six years with Comcast. Guide is more aesthetically pleasing in is information-packed. The picture quality is great, no lag changing channels or issues with stations freezing, being pixelated, etc.

Good luck with them as an ISP though, I wouldn't go near DSL this day and age. I have no idea if they deliver with their bandwidth promises.

DirecTV is still the best but it's so expensive.

Uverse is not DSL, it uses the same lines that you are getting the TV on for internet. Their speeds are almost constant and I don't think they enforce any caps, they do have some things if you use a ton of bandwidth but I don't know what they are.

I have the phone and have no issues, plus I love all the features for blocking all phone numbers. Any time a sales call, I block the number and there calls no longer come through.

The TV experience will differ based on your distance from box in your neighborhood. I don't have it, but I've seen it and it was terrible for sports on good TVs. You are also limited to 3 HD channels at a time, which may effect the picture quality or internet speed. For sports, I wouldn't like it, but the TV I saw it on was towards the edge of the available distance from the box so it may have been effect somewhat.

Re: Anyone have ATT Uverse TV?

Uverse is VDSL, still DSL, kind of like DSL 2.0.

It's limited to 4 HD streams into your house, though the DVR boxes can only handle 3HD and 1 SD at a time.

                                Sports looked fine to me.

Currently the highest profile they give is 32/5 Kbps (it's rumored they are upping this, my line for instance can support 50Kbps) and that bandwidth is shared by everything (TV, internet, phone). One HD stream is about 5.5 Kbps, so if you run 4 of those what's left for internet is 10Kbps down, talk on the phone and it goes even lower.

I'm never really taxing the internet when multiple streams are being used though, which is typically during primetime TV. I've never had the internet noticeably slow down on me while I was trying to use it.

I will say the router they give you sucks, so if you have one set it up through DMZ+.

I'm happy with it, especially compared to the ****ty cable service, and it's much cheaper than DirecTV/Dish. I'm close to the VRAD though, 600 ft, the further away you are the worse it will be.
