Wireless Mouse question.

Yesterday I bought a wireless mouse for my computer. It's the first time I've ever dealt with one. It was easy to install and everything worked fine. Really quick. But I noticed that when my computer shuts down, underneath the mouth the red laser is still on and I don't see any place on the mouse to cut it off.

Is it supposed to stay on? Won't that run the battery down? Thanks for the help.

You don't have a charger for it? For my laptop mouse I have to take out the bluetooth thing and connect it to the mouse to turn the mouse off but I don't know if your's is like that. What kind of mouse do you have?

most of them are based off movement and there really isn't anyway to turn them off unless you flip the off switch

Alot of them have switches or buttons to turn them off.

I have a question regarding purchasing a new wireless mouse and replacing it with the old wireless mouse.

Windows XP.

Purchased a new Manhattan wireless mouse with a charger. The new software is on a mini-disk. Anyway, I installed the rechargeable batteries and installed the new software. The prompt screen is saying connect the mouse before proceeding.

That is where I'm stuck. I've tried to connect the new mouse, but it's not happening. Either I'm knocking on the old mouse or the keyboard.

Do I need to remove the old mouse's software or take out the batteries? Please advise with step by step instructions. The connector, old mouse and keyboard are by Logitec.
