I have a pair of Etymotic ER6i that I bought on Ebay for $80 (normally $150) and a pair of Skullcandy earbuds that I got for $15. I use the Skullcandy. IMO they sound better and are more comfortable.

These are the JVC buds I got for 19.99. They're comfortable and im sure like the good ones they completely muffle or block out sound around you when you snug and secure them in your ear.

I have some Philips similar to these from wal-mart. I'm interested in checking out some of the ones you guys are posting also.

I stick with earbuds that have something that goes around the back of the ear because I have trouble keeping them in my ears when active.

Personally I think Skullcandys sound horrible, at a minimum worse than the Zune earphones.

MylarOne X3i is a great earphone, runs for $57 though. That site doesn't look like Amazon or Ebay but its 100% trusted and has great customer service.

Here is a list of a couple good earphones for your price range. I'd recommend these

My Skullcandy earbuds came in today and I just tried them. I like them so far. Let's see how they hold up on the elliptical machine.

They passed the elliptical machine test as well. Didn't slip out one bit. I normally have trouble keeping earbuds in my ear.

                        Re: Best (affordable) Earbuds?

There is a reason why cheap headphones/earbuds are cheap, because they suck. Spend the extra bucks, it will be well worth it.

They are worth it. I'm on airplanes every week and I can't hear the engines unless I'm right next to them. They are also out of his price range though.
