Sorry to here his treatment is not going well. My dad is currently going through chemo for colon cancer. I have seen first had what this disease can do to a person. My dad's weight was normally 225-230. He got all the way down to 168 (this happened over the course of a month). He is now up to 175. He does not have the energy he used to and has days where he is worn down. His spirit is good though and he is waking the best of his situation. He is due for a CAT scan soon to see if the treatment is helping. We are both just praying and hoping for the best.Comment

Re: Patrick Swayze Dying of Cancer... Only Five Weeks to Live?
cancer does suck...i just lost my own father to it at the age of 58 on this past Halloween..
he went through a year of hell, dropped from 240 to i think 115 when he finally lost the battle.
he was one of my best friends in life too, so it was devastating to say the least. He never wanted to die either, even at the very end when there was nothing anyone can do. I miss him every single minute of every day and god bless anyone else who's ever lost, is losing, or might lose anyone to this terrible disease...Yankees, Manchester United, Chicago Bears, New York RangersComment

Re: Patrick Swayze Dying of Cancer... Only Five Weeks to Live?
Cancer is perhaps my biggest fear in life. It truly is the only thing I'm seriously scared of because while there are ways to increase the likelihood of cancer, there is really no way to prevent it.
It can happen to anyone, at any time. One day you're the healthiest person you know and then suddenly, you've got cancer and it straps you of every ounce of energy and life you have.
There is nothing else so random and deadly."It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace
