Has anyone else had trouble with espn.com lately?

I'm on a MacBook using Firefox, and I can't go to ESPN.com without my browser freezing. (I get that spinning beach-ball of death). I'm the only one, right?

I've been a little frustrated with my low RAM as I'm only working with 512MB (leave it to me, I bought a new MacBook just a few months before they upgraded the base RAM to 1GB).

I'm just trying to get some conformation that it's my computer and not ESPN or something. Thanks.

Yeah I had trouble last night as well as this afternoon, too. Which posed problems because I have ESPN set as my homepage, so I had to change it. I'm on a powerbook using Firefox. I thought it was just something to do with my computer, too, but I guess not.

Apparently just about everyone with a Mac is having this problem (myself as well - Powerbook G4 and Safari). If you do a google search for "safari espn.com" you'll pull up a thread at the Apple.com forums discussing it - it appears to be a problem with just about all sites using heavy Flash. There are apparently a couple very complicated workarounds, but nothing 100% satisfactory so far. Hopefully a fix will be out soon. For the time being, I am just avoiding ESPN.com.

I've had some weird issues too. It's my homepage and sometimes it'll go all "Not Responding" on me and then it'll break through. Other times I'll have to restart the browser. I'm using Firefox on Windows XP.

Well, I'm pretty glad to know it's not just my lack of RAM catching up with me.

Even embedded videos on this forum from ESPN.com wont work. There's a video in a thread on the NCAA Football forum that I can't watch. My browser just freezes.

It seems to be working now... that's good.

I didn't even realize... it may have been working for like a day now, and I may have been on the site, but I wouldn't even realize. It's just pure habit for me to go to ESPN.com. I just went on the site, and I was like "oh wait..."

yeah, all you have to do is restart your computer. But since I never restart it, it didn't work for a week. But a restart will fix it.

Really? I've been up to date on all of the latest happenings all the time just by following SI.
