Re: Favorite horror movie
The Shining and The Exorcist were the only two movies of its time that I found great by today's standards.
But I'm sorry... I must be living in the new generation, because I can't find movies of their respective times to be great only because I didn't live in that time. That said, I'm up with the current stuff.
My favorite is Saw, hands down. Not for the horror aspects, but for the movie itself while it rests in the horror genre. If I were to give a movie praise for it being horrific, I'll have to give a nod to The Ring. Very subtle moments of scariness, and really made me think afterward as well.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

Re: Favorite horror movie
This and the first Scream are my favorites. I'm more of a newer horror movie fan, so while I like older stuff I find I'm not a "purist" like a lot of people are (and I can understand where they're coming from).Nintendo Switch Friend Code: SW-7009-7102-8818Comment

Re: Favorite horror movie
The FIRST time I saw Scream, it was the best Horror flick I'd ever seen.
It's been overdone since then, but the completely new style to it, giving the character's "smarts" and making fun of the cliches was pretty revolutionary at the time.

Re: Favorite horror movie
The problem is that today even the real horror movies (not the parody ones) are half comedy and half creepy. It seems like today's horror movies have become a parody about themselves, without even meaning to be.
OH and BTW, in 1990 (I was 14) I made a Freddy Krueger glove: I took old leather glove, used a pot cover for the metal and took 4 blades off 2 scissors. I built it and it looked like the real thing! No1 believed me that I made it. Once I took it to the army and people got excited and wanted to put it on and try it. Too bad I threw it away when we moved...Last edited by youvalss; 03-09-2008, 07:13 AM.My Specs:
