I saw it. It is just a feast for the eyes they went on location to shoot instead of all cg locations. Not to mention the cg(sabertooth, mammoth, tera birds) is breathtaking! Same director of Independence Day but I hated Independence Day but liked this.

yeah, i can imagine the visuals of this movie will be top notch. story-line, plot, character dev., etc... probably all subpar. But i think this is a movie that has to be watched on the big screen.

This is for the history buff in all of us but History Channel is doing a program that deals a little with the subject matter of the movie. Here's the description from the history channel site:

Discover the thrilling real story of life on earth in prehistoric times. Viewers will go back in time to when early humans are just starting to inhabit North America and huge climate fluctuations cause a mini-Ice Age. The saber tooth cat, the giant ground sloth and the woolly mammoth are suddenly becoming extinct. How does man survive? Travel to early archaeological sites in North America and watch as scientists uncover fossilized bones, ancient homes and weapons of stone. State-of-the-art green-screen computer animation re-creates the great mammoth hunts of the time.

It airs at 8 tonight and will be on a couple more times this month.

            Apparently,

Roland Emmerich hit his peak with his first major film, Stargate, which ROCKS!

Since then...it's been all downhill for him.

Wasn't he involved in THE DAY AFTER TOMORROW? That was a pretty good movie although it kinda dragged near the end. I wonder if 5-10 years from now he'll be relegated to making mini-series for the scifi network

The movie was okay it wasn't terrible. The special effects alone make it worth seeing. By the way the Dark Night trailers was sick! I can't wait to see that movie.

                      Re: 10,000 B.C.

This movie is garbage. It's actually not too bad if you go into it thinking of it as a comedy, because the horrible dialogue, accents, and historical inaccuracies had me cracking up throughout. There were some quotes in Entertainment Weekly with scientists and historians who said there is at least one factually incorrect thing in every single scene. One of them also says if you're educated you'll laugh through the whole movie.

I laugh at that quote. Plenty of films aren't historically correct and that is ok not to mention that is a extremely arrogant if not asinine comment. The director made up his own world which doesn't have to be accurate. Did I come out of this film saying wow best picture of the year? no! Did I come out of this film saying wow its like watching a 100% historically correct documentary? No but I did walk out saying that was fun and a feast for my eyes.

I have to get at least a "10" on the "Tomatometer" before I think about seeing a movie.

10000 BC was HORRIBLE. 8 of us went to see and all thought it stunk.... 3 of us slept through some of it.

CG were BAD, acting was WORSE, and what was it about again? the story was rancid....

the most disappointed i've been in a movie EVER. there is no possible way ANYONE liked this movie. IT IS NOT POSSIBLE

please..... please, do not go and waste your money on this movie, i beg you. at the VERY least, wait until it's out on DVD or sucker your friend in a game of rock/paper/scissors and have HIM buy it for you but DO NOT PAY TO WATCH THIS STEAMING PILE OF DUNG WITH CORN!!!!!!!!
