I saw it. It is just a feast for the eyes they went on location to shoot instead of all cg locations. Not to mention the cg(sabertooth, mammoth, tera birds) is breathtaking! Same director of Independence Day but I hated Independence Day but liked this.

Re: 10,000 B.C.
yeah, i can imagine the visuals of this movie will be top notch. story-line, plot, character dev., etc... probably all subpar. But i think this is a movie that has to be watched on the big screen.Comment

Re: 10,000 B.C.
This is for the history buff in all of us but History Channel is doing a program that deals a little with the subject matter of the movie. Here's the description from the history channel site:
Discover the thrilling real story of life on earth in prehistoric times. Viewers will go back in time to when early humans are just starting to inhabit North America and huge climate fluctuations cause a mini-Ice Age. The saber tooth cat, the giant ground sloth and the woolly mammoth are suddenly becoming extinct. How does man survive? Travel to early archaeological sites in North America and watch as scientists uncover fossilized bones, ancient homes and weapons of stone. State-of-the-art green-screen computer animation re-creates the great mammoth hunts of the time.
It airs at 8 tonight and will be on a couple more times this month.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Re: 10,000 B.C.
This movie is garbage. It's actually not too bad if you go into it thinking of it as a comedy, because the horrible dialogue, accents, and historical inaccuracies had me cracking up throughout. There were some quotes in Entertainment Weekly with scientists and historians who said there is at least one factually incorrect thing in every single scene. One of them also says if you're educated you'll laugh through the whole movie.
SpoilerFor instance, the walking scenes are ridiculous. They're in the middle of this giant snow-covered mountain and all of a sudden they're walking in a rainforest? With snow completely surrounding them? And then cut to the next shot, oh middle of a desert. Next up how about the holding cell for the slaves building the pyramids. Not guarded on the perimeter of the entire set up and easy enough for D'Leh and his buddy to easily jump into and jump right out of, but none of the slaves can figure this out or even try to escape? And how about people having crossbows or Evolette's eye makeup running down her face as she cries in the end? Or in every scene where it shows the village (which is also not historically accurate) they show some member carrying wood around. Where are they getting this wood from in the middle of a huge mountain?Comment

Re: 10,000 B.C.
I laugh at that quote. Plenty of films aren't historically correct and that is ok not to mention that is a extremely arrogant if not asinine comment. The director made up his own world which doesn't have to be accurate. Did I come out of this film saying wow best picture of the year? no! Did I come out of this film saying wow its like watching a 100% historically correct documentary? No but I did walk out saying that was fun and a feast for my eyes.-JoshComment

Re: 10,000 B.C.
I just don't get what anyone saw in the trailer to convince them to waste money on the movie.Originally posted by BlzerLet me assure you that I am a huge proponent of size, and it greatly matters. Don't ever let anyone tell you otherwise.
If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)Comment
