I don't think there is a single greatest guitarist of all time. There are just so many different styles.

But yes, Hendrix was a guitar God.

I gotta say Hendrix was amazing, but Stevie Ray is my favorite guitarist of all time. My dad really got me hooked on him a few years ago. It's sad that great guitarists like Hendrix and Vaughn passed so young.

Yep, back in 1990. Sucks, because from what i've heard (don't know if it's true), it was caused by a mistake on the pilots part. Sad to see him go that way, and especially so young.

yup, i just did some research on the crash...did you know that there was a couple seat changes w/ his brother? Stevie's brother Jimmy and Eric Clapton.
they were both suppose to be on the chopper...as i understand.

How do people give Stevie Ray Vaughan props over BB King?

It's something to this day I'll never understand..but I guess you have to be dead in order to be appreciated.

I always find it funny how guys like Kurt Cobain among others are constantly appearing on these lists when guitar players like Jeff Buckley and Elliott Smith are nowhere to be found.

SRV and Albert King did an album together and Al completely schools SRV. Great album, nonetheless.

Nivek knows good music cuz B.B. King is THE MAN!

Didn't he and Eric Clapton do an album together? I've heard a few songs with the two of them and it's simply magical hearing them.

Yup. The album is called Riding With The King and its pretty good - not either of the two's best by any means, but its cool to hear them together. The album is a bit too clean sounding and too produced for my preference of blues music, but its a nice listen nonetheless.

I agree with you. Only SRV was pretty well worshiped when he was alive too.

Me personally though, I'll take BB any day of the week over SRV.
