    Trust me. Watch Dexter. It's very well-done. It gives you both drama and a systematic approach to solving a case all while entertaining you with quick witty humor and a character that is more engaging than House.

    No knock on House. Hugh Laurie is fantastic in that role. But, Michael C. Hall is incredible as Dexter.

    The writing seems simplistic but once you realize that Dexter is a simplistic character and you get so entrenched in the story that you discover how amazing a simplistic character can be you'll appreciate the shows direction.

    Big plus is it's only two seasons old. Season One is available and Season Two just started up again on Showtime OnDemand.

        Dude, I just spent the last 3 night watching season one and just finished two about 20 min ago. I am addicted. Do you know when the 3rd season is coming out?

            I heard great things about Dexter, so I watched the first season. I wasn't all that impressed. Decent, but not enough to make me want to watch another season.

                Man, I recently finished Season One. I'm going to order Showtime OnDemand this weekend so I can start watching Season Two and finish it before the end of this month. That's my plan.

                So I don't understand that spoiler and won't until I get that done.

                I'm assuming Season Three will start sometime around the Fall. I think the show has always followed a Fall-Winter schedule of 12 episodes.

                        I agree with Arrested Development, Rome, and Extras. Both of those shows had their entire run so you can watch the entire story unfold without waiting for new episodes and/or new seasons to start. Obviously, The Sopranos and Six Feet Under also apply.

                        You can also watch Dead Like Me as the movie that's supposed to wrap it all up should be coming out this year...I think. Depending on how long it takes you to watch the episodes, the timing could work out.

                            Dexter is one of the best shows on tv and you should definitely check it out.

                            Also I'd recommend Chuck, which quickly became one of my favorite shows this year. Granted it's only a short season worth of episodes, NBC has picked it up for next year so you can catch up on that.

                                                I think I'll probably go with Dexter, though all the comedy's look good and I've heard good stuff about them so I'll try to get into them at some point.
