    HELP! Laptop Question

So last night I plugged my laptop back in and it recognizes it is on AC Power but the battery is not charging, it's been stuck at 62% for over 12 hours now. Before that yesterday it was fine. I've obviously tried restarting it multiple times. What else can I do?

It is a Dell Inspirion E1505.

Will the computer run off of the battery? If so, try running down the battery to where it automatically goes into sleep mode. Sometimes battery calibrations get messed up and this is the best way to reset it.

Also, how old is the battery and how many cycles has it gone through? It could be just an old battery ready to crap out.

It sounds like you need a new battery.
