if you have a reliable connection at home for your slingbox and your phone is on a 3g network it will be good

You probably need to update your phone using the link on that page.

For your home network, you need to connect to your slingbox connected to your tv, unless sprint has some offering of their own. You just need your slingbox id that you use when connecting and you put it in and connect. It has some good options, you can choose quality or speed settings, audio only, and different video sizes. I didn't like the remote control options, but I didn't mess with them much.

Sprint and that phone have 3G network coverage. In fact, the Mogul just had an update released that enables GPS and faster internet coverage. Hopefully, your area has EV coverage. You will know if you do because the symbol to the right of "Start" will be a box with EV in it.

I use a Slingbox with my Moto Q on sprint and it works way better than you'd expect.

It's a phenomenal device.

DirecTV w/DVR. The service shouldn't matter though.

The slingbox also has additional video inputs. So you can tie into a DVD player, security camera or anything that has a video output.

You can check on your house from anywhere in the world. See if your old lady is steppin out, check on your pets, etc.
