    Re: Forgetting Sarah Marshall

I honestly thought this was an awful movie. I don't understand because I LOVED Knocked Up and Superbad I like to think I know good raunchy comedy, but besides the British guy and a couple Jonah Hill lines I thought it was lame. I was embarassed to buy a ticket with the Vampire song thing, my gosh that was hideously unfunny, not in a funny unfunny either.

This is why I liked Superbad and 40-Year Old Virgin. They were written from a true perspective. A lot of it wasn't forced humor. Just humor as a result of the characters being where they were and who they were.

I'd throw in Knocked Up, which was ok, but the move got too sappy at the end.

Exactly. I'm sure every dude can relate to the scene where it shows Peter holding Sarahs purse/handbag while she's taking a photoshoot. Or the scene where Sarah was mad at him because he wore sweats for a whole week straight.

          1) There was a long thread about the purse holding thing, but yeah, most guys can relate and I thought it was hilarious.

I'm going to sound like a broken record, but once again anything involving Freeks and Geeks alum is Gold.

I know there have been some people that have said these sorts of films are chick flicks disguised as guy movies but I really enjoy them. I like to call movies such as The 40 Year Old Virigin, Knocked Up, Wedding Crashers, Forgetting Sarah Marshall, etc.. as Comedy with Heart.

All the performances from the cast was terrific. I thought Mile Kunis overshadowed Kristen Bell. Jonah Hill had the funniest line with his I just went from 6 to 12. There was even a nice little dig at Pulse.

You gotta love the characters Carla Gallo plays....

40 Year Old Virgin - Toe Sucking Girl
              SuperBad - Period Blood Girl
Forgetting Sarah Marshall - Gag Me Girl

This is the best movie I've seen this year.

I really want to see this. I've been trying to "rent" it online, but I can't find a decent copy.

                          Re: Forgetting Sarah Marshall

                          Just caught this (thanks Pimping)...

I was a little disappointed. It really didn't have many funny parts. It was fairly predictable and really didn't live up to the hype.

Don't get me wrong, though... looking at Kristen Bell and Mila Kunis for 100 minutes was MIGHTY nice. Kunis is just gorgeous and Bell is my perfect type of girl (short blonde with blue eyes and an amazing body).

I recently went through a rough break up, so I understood where the guy was coming from (and I think it helped me understand a lot of the humor), but I was just disappointed.

If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)
