    Bose Companion 3 Series II

    Bose Companion 3 Series II

Since my primary sources of music are laptop and iPod, I picked these up from Best Buy yesterday at lunch. Sound is, in a word, AMAZING! Picked up a Dynex mini RCA into 3.5mm converter and it connects easily to my 32" HP LCD. Sound on that is, in a word, AMAZING! Both in music, and movies I'm hearing all kinds of random crap that I've never heard before and it can be kind freaky. Played a game in my 2K7 legacy last night and it was like being in the gym.

Well worth the 250 bucks and service plan IMO.

Bose Companion 3 Series II ftw.

Those look good. I know nothing about home audio or speakers in general but I want to get some good speakers for my TV. Nothing too expensive or grand because I'm living in an apartment. I am thinking of a couple speakers and a subwoofer. Is BOSE as good as advertised? I guess i'll need a receiver of some sorts or can it all hook up to my tv? I've read about people buying amps but that may be for a full home theater I assume. Any help is appreciated!

I'm in an apartment as well. In my personal opinion they are as good as advertised. I have no amp for this setup and a mini RCA to 3.5mm converter for $13.99 was all I needed to connect it to my tv. Can't complain one bit.

From my experience, BOSE is overpriced. There are other speakers for less that offer a better sound (ie: Klipsch and Polk are very good).

It swings both ways when it comes to Bose IMO.

I have purchased a couple pairs of bose headsets in the past and been very happy with the sound quality, although alot of so-called 'audiophiles' would advise alternative products because of how Bose doesn't quite provide all the bang for the buck.

Bose is alot like the old iPods, they are sleek looking, cool design and pretty good quality. But might not be the best thing on the market for the price.

I agree with that. It's also in the eye of the beholder. When I was looking for surround speakers, I looked at BOSE, but was lead away once I listened to them compared to other speakers and due to the audiophile reviews. With that said, every environment is different. I have a BOSE system in my car and think it sounds very good.

My parent's have BOSE speakers hanging throughout some rooms in the house (surround in the family room, surround in the finished basement and a few in the kitchen basically for music). I think they sound pretty good, but they probably could have spent less for more. Most speaker companies make small satellite speakers nowadays.

Of course, this is coming from the guy who wound up buying Harman Kardon speakers and sub because they match his receiver. HK makes great receivers, but isn't known for speakers and I'm sure some would tell me I could have purchased better speakers, but I love the sound and look of these.
