It was between this and Duran Duran - Rio. Yeah, a weird combo, I know. My taste in music is all over the place.

Wow, I completely agree. I didn't think that someone would actually put The Clash up here.

I guess since Clash was taken "Transistor" by 311 is an album I can still listen to, it's tied with "Project Majestic Mix Squaredance: Limited Edition"

Would have to be Led Zeppelin IV(Runes) with The Beatles Abby Road second. This is way tough to decide, but nothing newer than the 80's even compares.

A lot of love for this here, thought I would post a link that will fans of this album will definitely not agree with, but a good discussion point nonetheless:

I don't necessarily agree with that, but it's an interesting read. Travis Morrison is a great frontman, I found it an interesting write-up.

Wow... I'm speechless after that. I could see him saying that about Sandinista, but London Calling?! Wow...

I thought of another one today while I was driving home from work, and I heard songs of both of these. Never get tired of these two albums either...

That is a very interesting read. I can't say I agree with his views on London Calling or The Police and the Buddy Holly poke isn't really fair since most musicians released singles instead of full-fledged albums.

I do agree 100% with his view on Sign O the Times, though.

Wasn't London Calling given the award "greatest album of the 80's" or was it the 70's, I get confused because it was released in late 79 I believe. You know that really doesn't suprise me that one would have that view because most musicians are so afraid to branch out that they would think London Calling would suck. However, how can you call an album bad if it blends, 2nd wave ska, Rockabilly, Classical Guitar, reggae and politically infused punk seamlessly? I can see that about Combat Rock or Sandanista but London Calling? Honestly, The Clash were way more creative than "2 musicians and 2 hacks" should have been, they put their experiences in their music and played it with emotion without worrying about who they pissed off at the record company. They had Juevos.

Not sure about the award thing since I don't really follow those type of things and basically anybody nowadays has at least a thousand Top (fill in the blank) Lists.

London Calling was released in '79.

I think Morrison recognizes the success of the album and the accomplishments of the great songs on there because none of the songs he listed are really any of my favorites and I have to admit some of them do sound very similar. Now, I'm definitely not taking up for the guy or agreeing with his main point that The Clash were a singles band.
